Late Saturday night, a quiet stretch of road in northern Wisconsin turned into a scene of absolute devastation. A single-vehicle crash claimed the lives of two teenagers and left two others fighting serious injuries. The quiet hum of the weekend was shattered in a single split second.

The vehicle was moving southbound on County Highway G near Loomis Road just before eleven at night. Behind the wheel was 16-year-old Landen J. Englund from Menominee, Michigan. Next to him in the front passenger seat was 17-year-old Princeton J. Welty from Crivitz, Wisconsin.

For reasons still under active investigation by local authorities, the car failed to cleanly negotiate a curve in the road. It veered sharply off the pavement, plunged straight into a ditch, and smashed violently into a sturdy tree. The impact was catastrophic for the front seat occupants.

Both Landen and Princeton suffered fatal injuries from the crash. First responders arrived to a mangled mess of metal and quickly pronounced both teenagers dead at the scene. The loss of these two young boys instantly sent a heavy wave of grief through their families and local towns.

Two other passengers inside the car miraculously survived the brutal impact, but not without severe consequences. One of them was actually thrown clear out of the vehicle as it crashed. Emergency crews rushed both survivors away to get urgent medical help for their serious injuries.

Investigators from the Marinette County Sheriff’s Office pointed out that excessive speed appears to have played a major role in the accident. Deputies and medical examiners are still working hard to piece together every single detail of what happened in those final moments.

Right now, friends, classmates, and heartbroken relatives are left trying to process an unthinkable reality. Tributes are pouring in across social media as people remember the bright personalities of the two boys. Their empty desks and missing laughter leave a permanent scar on everyone who knew them.
