Four young children in Alabama woke up without the voice that usually filled their home. Alyshia Rushing, a 26-year-old mother who documented the daily routines of parenthood for hundreds of thousands of online followers, died early Saturday morning on a dark stretch of highway. She was known to her digital audience as “Mama A,” but to Karter, Raelynn, Zoey, and Aydan, she was simply the center of their world.

The wreck happened around 2:15 a.m. along the southbound lanes of Interstate 85 in Montgomery. Rushing was behind the wheel of a 2013 Kia Sorento with a female passenger in the front seat. According to Montgomery police dispatch logs, her SUV collided head-on with a 2015 Toyota Tacoma traveling on the same stretch of road.

First responders arrived to find both vehicles severely damaged. Medics pronounced Rushing dead right there on the pavement. The passenger traveling inside her Kia survived the initial impact and was taken to a local hospital with injuries that doctors expect her to recover from.

The driver of the pickup truck, 20-year-old U.S. Marine Landon Dunn, also died at the scene. The sudden impact ended two lives in an instant, turning a routine weekend trip into a site of unimaginable grief for two separate families.

For Rushing’s family, the loss is immediate and quiet. Online, her videos showed the ordinary work of raising four kids: morning routines, folded laundry, and quick chats in the kitchen. Off camera, family members described her as the primary caregiver, provider, and emotional anchor for her young children, who now face growing up without her.

Montgomery police accident reconstruction teams are still reviewing the site to figure out what led to the head-on collision. Investigators have not publicly released details on how one of the vehicles ended up in the path of the other during the quiet morning hours.

Relatives and friends are now focusing on supporting the four children left behind. While investigators continue their work along Interstate 85, those who loved Rushing are left trying to figure out how to navigate normal life without the woman who kept everything together.
