The patrol said Auville was not wearing a seat belt when the crash occurred. Investigators also believe alcohol may have played a role. The circumstances surrounding the collision remain under investigation.

The crash brought emergency crews to the scene as responders worked to get Auville out of the wrecked Mustang. The Newport Fire Department and EMS, Reno Fire Department and EMS, the Washington County Coroner’s Office and PCS Towing also responded.

For Auville’s family and friends, the news was far more than another traffic report. He was 34 years old, a Newport man whose life ended in a crash that unfolded in only a matter of seconds.

The details released by investigators explain how the crash happened, but they do not tell the full story of Auville’s life. A police report can describe a vehicle, a roadway and the injuries that followed. It cannot capture the people who knew him, the memories they shared or the place he held in their lives.

His death also leaves those closest to him facing the difficult days that follow a sudden loss. Ordinary routines can feel different when someone who was part of them is suddenly gone. Family members and friends are left with memories of conversations, familiar places and moments that may now carry a much heavier meaning.

Investigators will continue working to determine exactly what led to the crash. Alcohol is suspected as a factor, and the patrol has confirmed that Auville was not wearing a seat belt. Those findings are part of an ongoing investigation, and additional details could emerge as authorities complete their work.

The crash is a reminder of how quickly a drive can turn into an emergency. But for the people who knew Auville, the most important fact is not the condition of the Mustang or the details of the roadway. It is that a 34-year-old man from Newport is gone.

Tyler R. Auville died after the Mustang left State Route 7, hit an embankment and overturned. His family and friends are now left to remember the life he lived while authorities continue to examine the final moments of his life.
