Jessica Rode Morris, a 36-year-old woman from Hallwood, Virginia, died Sunday morning after a two-vehicle crash in Accomack County. The wreck happened along northbound Route 13, near Gospel Temple Road, turning an ordinary morning drive into a fatal collision.
Virginia State Police said the crash happened at about 8:37 a.m. Morris was driving a 2018 Dodge Journey when a 2012 Mercedes-Benz C300 collided with the front of her vehicle.

The impact caused Morris to suffer fatal injuries. Despite the response to the scene, she did not survive. Her death has left family and others who knew her facing the loss of a woman who was only 36.
The Mercedes was driven by 18-year-old Jacob Ishmal Adonis Kamara of Dover, Delaware. An adult female passenger was also inside the Mercedes when the crash occurred.
Kamara and the passenger were both injured and taken to a hospital for treatment. Their injuries were not considered life-threatening, according to the information provided by police.
Kamara was later charged with reckless driving. Police have not said that additional charges have been filed, and the investigation into what led to the collision remains ongoing.
The crash is now another painful reminder of how quickly a trip down a familiar road can change. For Morris’ family and friends, the focus is no longer simply on the crash itself, but on the life that was lost in it.
Morris’ death leaves behind memories that are now especially difficult for those closest to her. The circumstances of the crash may eventually become clearer as investigators continue their work, but the loss of a 36-year-old woman remains the central fact of this tragedy.
The investigation is expected to examine the events leading up to the collision and the actions of the drivers involved. For now, authorities have identified reckless driving as the charge against Kamara while the case continues.
