Denis Broderick was riding his motorcycle through Horry County on Saturday when a sudden crash changed everything in a flash.

Emergency crews rushed to the scene at the corner of Highway 707 and Longwood Drive shortly after the wreck happened. They managed to load Broderick into an ambulance and get him to a nearby medical center for urgent care.

Despite all efforts by doctors and medics, the 57-year-old rider could not overcome the severe injuries he suffered. Horry County Chief Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard confirmed that Broderick passed away on Sunday morning.

Broderick was a long-time resident of Pawleys Island, a tight-knit coastal community where people tend to look out for one another.

News of the fatal wreck traveled fast through town over the weekend, leaving friends, neighbors, and relatives struggling to process the sudden loss.

South Carolina Highway Patrol officers are now sifting through physical evidence from the crash site to piece together the exact sequence of events.

For those who spent years alongside Broderick, the focus now turns toward supporting his family and keeping his memory alive through the simple everyday moments they shared.
