A domestic shooting in a quiet neighborhood left two people dead and three young children without parents on Wednesday evening.
Police officers arrived at a house on Sharps Drive in Centreville around 5:30 p.m. on September 9, 2026. They were answering a call about an active emergency inside the home.
When officers walked into the house, they found 31-year-old Lavinia Brown lying dead from a gunshot wound.
Her husband, 31-year-old Brandon Brown, was also found dead at the scene from a gunshot wound.
Investigators say Brandon shot Lavinia before turning the gun on himself inside the home.
The couple’s three young children were inside the house at the time the gun went off.
Paramedics checked out all three kids right at the scene and confirmed none of them had physical injuries.
Detectives are staying on the scene to gather physical evidence and figure out what sparked the shooting inside the house.
