State police vehicles pulled up to a house on Herminie West Newton Road around 9:30 a.m. Sunday after receiving a call about an unresponsive woman inside. Troopers stepped through the front door and discovered Christin E. Hamilton dead inside the residence.

Christin was a long-time resident of nearby West Newton, where her family has maintained deep ties to the local area for decades. She grew up in the community alongside her sister Nicole and her parents, Harry and Charmaine Hamilton. Over the years, Christin had faced significant family loss, including the deaths of her sister and her father, Harry, who passed away in 2023.

The Westmoreland County Coroner arrived at the property shortly after state police arrived and officially pronounced Christin dead at 12:05 p.m. Neighbors watched as state police established a perimeter around the home and investigators began taking photographs of the scene.

As investigators swept the residence and gathered physical evidence, troopers turned their attention toward pinpointing everyone connected to the address. State police quickly identified her son, Jakob Michael Korber, in connection with the homicide inquiry.

Authorities released a photograph of Korber to the public and launched an active search along Herminie West Newton Road. Troopers asked anyone who spotted him to contact law enforcement immediately, keeping local residents on alert throughout the afternoon as patrol cars searched nearby streets.

The search ended around 7:00 p.m. Sunday when state police located Korber in the area. Officers took him into custody without any further incident and transported him to the local barracks for questioning.

The Westmoreland County Coroner has not yet released the official cause or manner of death, pending final autopsy and toxicology results. Pennsylvania State Police continue to process evidence from the home as they move forward with their investigation into Christin Hamilton’s death.
