Emerald Tingue was a 29-year-old living in the Town of Polk when her life ended early Saturday morning. She died alongside 51-year-old Eric, a resident of nearby Jackson, after a motorcycle crash in Washington County. The incident took place around 2:30 a.m. on August 29, 2026.

The crash happened near the intersection where Highway 175 meets Highway 164. That spot sits right in the heart of Polk, a quiet town in southeastern Wisconsin. Emergency calls started coming into the Washington County Communications Center right after the wreck occurred.

Deputies from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office got to the scene within minutes. Officers from the Slinger Police Department and troopers from the Wisconsin State Patrol joined them quickly. First responders found both riders lying near the wrecked motorcycle in the dark.

Lifestar Rescue and the Slinger Fire Department pulled up to help with emergency medical care. Crews immediately began performing CPR and other basic lifesaving measures on both victims. They worked on the side of the road under emergency lights.

Despite the fast work of emergency crews, neither Tingue nor Eric survived. Medical personnel declared both of them dead at the scene. Law enforcement officers later confirmed their names and hometowns to the public.

Tingue was known locally as a resident of Polk, while Eric came from the town of Jackson just a few miles away. The sudden loss hit people in both small communities hard over the weekend. Friends and family are now left dealing with the unexpected news.

Deputies blocked off the entire intersection for about five hours after the crash. Investigators from the Washington County Crash Reconstruction Unit and the Medical Examiner’s Office worked on scene until morning. The Sheriff’s Office is still looking into what caused the motorcycle to crash.
