The early hours of Sunday brought a deadly scene to Columbus, Ohio, when police found 20-year-old Tiegiaion Clement suffering from a gunshot wound near North High Street and East 4th Avenue.
Officers were called to the Short North area shortly after 3 a.m. The location is near downtown Columbus, where the streets can still be active in the early morning. This time, however, officers arrived to find a young man badly injured.

Clement was taken to a hospital in critical condition. For a short time, there was still hope that he could survive the shooting. But by about 5:30 a.m., that hope was gone. Clement had died from his injuries.
The shooting left investigators with a serious question: What happened before officers arrived? Police have not released details about what led to the gunfire, and no suspect has been identified.
The case is still in its early stages, and authorities have not provided a detailed account of the circumstances surrounding the shooting. That leaves the events leading up to Clement’s death largely unknown.
What is known is that the emergency call came in shortly after 3 a.m. Sunday. Officers reached North High Street and East 4th Avenue and found Clement with a gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital in critical condition and died roughly two and a half hours later.
Clement was only 20 years old. His death has now become the focus of a homicide investigation as police work to determine who shot him and why.
For now, there is no identified suspect and no publicly released explanation for what triggered the shooting. Investigators are left to piece together what happened during those early-morning hours in the Short North.
