Deputies in Pasco County pulled up to a home on Cot Road on Thursday morning expecting a routine check on two residents. Instead, they walked straight into a crime scene. A man and a woman were found dead inside the home around 10:40 a.m.
Sheriff’s investigators identified the man as 66-year-old Lyle Fulton. Officials have not yet released the name of the adult woman found dead beside him.
Detectives quickly launched a full investigation after examining the scene inside the house. Early evidence gathered by the Pasco Sheriff’s Office points to a murder-suicide.
Investigators believe Fulton shot the woman first. Shortly after pulling the trigger, Fulton turned the gun on himself and died from a gunshot wound.
The house sits within the Lake Como Family Nudist Resort area in Lutz. Local authorities made sure to clarify that the resort itself was not involved in the shooting.
Deputies confirmed there is no ongoing danger to the surrounding neighborhood. The sheriff’s office stated that the shooting was an isolated event confined to the residence.
Detectives are working to pin down the exact relationship between Fulton and the woman. They are reviewing evidence and speaking with contacts to figure out what led up to the fatal violence.
