A two-year-old boy lost his life Tuesday afternoon after officers found him unresponsive inside a home in suburban Frankfort. Emergency calls came in shortly after four o’clock, sending first responders rushing to the quiet neighborhood on Brook Stone Court.
When police arrived at the house, someone was already on the floor giving the little boy CPR. Officers took over resuscitation efforts immediately, trying everything they could to bring the toddler back before paramedics arrived on scene.

Paramedics loaded the child into an ambulance and rushed him to a nearby hospital. Medical staff continued emergency treatments, but doctors pronounced the two-year-old dead a short time later.
Inside the same home, officers discovered the boy’s mother attempting to harm herself. First responders treated her at the scene before transporting her to a local hospital, where doctors listed her injuries as non-life-threatening.
Neighbors watched as emergency vehicles lined the block of two-story homes. The local fire district ended up transporting five people from the residence that afternoon, though officials have not detailed who else went to the hospital.
Frankfort Police Chief Leanne Chelepis stated Wednesday morning that preliminary findings point to a domestic-related homicide. Detectives stayed at the home overnight, placing evidence markers and gathering items from inside the house.
Public records identify the parents living at the address as Corie Walsh and Michael Walsh. Police have not released the toddler’s name or announced any formal criminal charges as the investigation remains active.
